It Just Wouldn't Die!!!
My father bought an 1992 VW Jetta in 1995 and gave me the car in 2003 as my first car.
The car could not pass an omissions test so I decided to run an engine cleaner through the gas lines, but this required me to drive the car to empty. I didn't think this would take a long time as the car was 11 years old and probably had poor gas millage.
The car was already on empty and the light on. My father and I drove the car on to the highway thinking this would be the fastest way to "waste" the gas coming out of my "brand new car".
ONE AND A HALF HOURS and 85 KM or 53 MILES later, the car was still driving! My father and I were in shock! We couldn't believe how this 11 year old car could still be driving! We managed to drive the car another 10 km or 6 miles to the nearest gas station and decided to fill up the car and put in the fuel injector...we had know idea how much longer it would take to get rid of the remaining gas.
The car was a beast and drove for another two years where I managed to sell it to someone who wanted to rebuild it...I bet it's still driving!
