Tank on Empty

It's all true

I have an 86 Civic and that thing just goes and goes, even on empty. There's not an actual empty light that comes on but I've driven daily for two or three weeks after the needle hit the E, easily 50+ miles on multiple occasions. Also, that 12 gallon tank it is? I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't for the owner's manual saying so; I've never put 10 or more gallons in at one time, EVER. No matter how many miles I rack up on one tank and how far below the line it goes, it never uses more than 10 gallons at once. I guess I'll just have to see how far I can go under the E one of these days...

I have an 05 civic lx, and the most i've ever put in my tank is 10.5 gallons, with the empty light coming on. I'd rather not risk pushing it to no gas, but it definitely can go longer! It's also better for your car to not go completely empty, I'd rather not do any damage - you're going to have to buy the gas eventually, right?
