Jetta TDI

I purchased a 2006 Jetta TDI when the new model came out. I routinely get 1100 km out of a tank with about 70% city and 30% hwy Driving. After the gas light comes on I always drive an additional 100km (60 miles) before I fill up. I’ve never run out of fuel and think it would be possible with 100% hwy driving (at 100km/h) to get an additional 150 km after the light comes on. I will never test this theory as Diesel’s are a bitch to re-start when they run out.
