Overheated fuel pump
I ran my car out of gas because the fuel sensor was broken. It ran to 508 miles on that tank and that is how I usually knew. After I got it refilled It started fine but next day trouble began starting it. It had a hard time idling but it seemed to run OK. On the the third day I actually could not start it in the evening and I run 100 miles day. Took it in and they claimed my fuel pump was putting out low pressure. Together with my fuel sensor and a new fuel filter it came to $1061 of which about $400 was labor. I am suspicions but is it plausible that a fuel pump can overheat from running it out of fuel. That was the claim the House of Muffle and Brakes gave me.
I would appreciate your opinion at prosperv@cox.net. -- Thanks,
