Afraid To Go Too Far

August 9, 2013 about Chevrolet Cavalier

I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier. I dont think ive ever pushed the car as far as it could go but ive gotten close. If you drive a cavalier like mine then you know it doesnt have a real "gas light". When it gets on the red E line a "check gauges" light comes on. I never really know how much gas is left. But i frove it from Maynardville to Knoxville with it like that and it was fine. Never once acted like it was gonna die. id have to say this is a pretty trustworthy car but like i said ive never pushed it.

How far a drive was that? I'm curious because I have a 2002, and the cheapest gas station is exactly 8 miles down the highway. If my "check gauges" light JUST came on, do you think I can make it? Lol. (My parents handed this car down to me for my first car, I'm 17! And I know I took my drivers test when there was hardly any gas in it, but I can't recall how long/far I drove that day!
