Crazy Life Story

September 11, 2008 about Saturn SL2

Starts out like this. My sister bought a 1993 Saturn Sl2 from a private seller for $3,200 and drove it for awhile. Well her being all smart, decides to drive to the nearest city (which is 45 minutes away). While her and her friends happened to be under the influence of a substance known to man as Marijuana. Girls being girls they were jamming to music. She drove 30 or more miles down the highway going 70 m.p.h. in second gear in an automatic. The car had to be at 7000 rpm's or more. She ended up blowing the engine when she got to the city. After we finally got the car home my parents decided to drop a new motor in it because the car still looked really nice. The body shop said they had just pulled the engine out of a Saturn with 130,000 miles on it. After they put it in the car and my sister got it back about two months later she hit a deer. The only thing that was wrong with the car was a broken driver side mirror, the automatic window was bent off track and a piece of the plastic back fender was cracked. She ended up buying a new car and gave it to me. Since I was young the car sat in the drive way in Michigan for a year and a half. When I finally received my license my dad had had the car repaired because the brakes were rusted. After repairing the car I drove it to its first oil change being my car. Because the car's c.d. player was stolen while it sat I had to drive it with no music. Since I didn't have a job I couldn't get a radio and drove it for AWHILE with no radio. When I finally saved up enough money to get a radio I had it all professionally installed because all the wires had been cut. Oh boy! Did I rock that c.d. player on my way home to some old school Eminem! Then I finally bought myself some MTX 10" subs which rocked that cars world with a 1000 watt Rockfordfosgate amp. When the car would have little brake downs it sat for awhile because I still didn't have a job because I was involved with after school sports. One time the starter broke and the starter was still good but the ear that held it in place was broke off. Well my moms retarded boyfriend put the new one on and had it all ready to go. Since it was winter and it sat for a week it was kind of tough for it to star. Then, all of a sudden it just stops rolling over. We had thought the engine seized up on it and that was it. My friends dad loves them cars and worked on them a lot wanted to take a look at it. After looking at it for awhile he said there was something stopping the gears from turning. Sure enough we could barely see in the fly wheel with a rigged up mirror seen that there was a socket in there. After getting the socket out the car started right up. Like a champ! So over the time I had this car I had hit 5 deer and never had to replace anything. The only thing that happened was a small dent in the passenger side hood. I hit that one at a good 60 m.p.h. My sister had also hit maybe 3 deer in it before I started driving the car. There was one big thing I forgot to tell you. When the car sat something happened inside the engine or wiring or the car just turned retarded. The #2 cylinder was not firing. I had the fuel injector replaced wires checked but somehow some way that cylinder was not going to fire. So, I drove it anyways. I put 70,000 miles on 3 cylinders. The car had been labeled unsafe by a couple body shops. So, I still drove it. Drove it 70 miles a day back and forth from work. This car was a champ, it never broke down. It always started, always got me to where i was going. It was also good on gas for a 3 cylinder. The car today has 230,000 on it. It would still be running besides the fact I am now buying a new car and the cerpentine belt fell off and I do not feel like putting it on. This car runs like shit but never let me down. I will say saturns are crazy!! I will miss this car. It was a friend. a supporter and my means of transportation. I am driving this car to the scrap yard tomorrow. It will be her final destination. R.I.P. little white Saturn SL2 you will be missed by many who you took home when they were wasted. Good luck on your future journey.

The History of : information hriotsy An automobile powered by a Otto gasoline engine was built in Germany by in 1885 and granted a patent in the following year. Although several other engineers (including Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach and Siegfried Marcus) were working on the problem at about the same time, Benz is generally credited with the invention of the modern automobile. The large-scale, production-line manufacturing of affordable automobiles was debuted by Ransom Eli Olds at his Oldsmobile factory in 1902. This assembly line concept was then greatly expanded by Henry Ford in the 1910s. Development of automotive technology was rapid, due in part to the hundreds of small manufacturers competing to gain the world's attention. Key developments included electric ignition and the electric self-starter (both by Charles Kettering, for the Cadillac Motor Company in 1910-1911), independent suspension, and four-wheel brakes.Although various pistonless rotary engine designs have attempted to compete with the conventional piston and crankshaft design, only Mazda's version of the Wankel engine has had more than very limited success.Since the 1920s, nearly all cars have been mass-produced to meet market needs, so marketing plans have often heavily influenced automobile design. It was Alfred P. Sloan who established the idea of different makes of cars produced by one company, so that buyers could move up as their fortunes improved. The makes shared parts with one another so that the larger production volume resulted in lower costs for each price range. For example, in the 1950s, Chevrolet shared hood, doors, roof, and windows with Pontiac; the LaSalle of the 1930s, sold by Cadillac, used the cheaper mechanical parts made by the Oldsmobile divisionSource:
