Light On Is Not Empty

May 25, 2008 about Saab 9-5

The light on come in at about 60 miles (100kms) to tell you to gas up. After the light comes on the trip computer fuel to empty commonly says 60 miles to emptry (100KMS) Then the fule guage gerts to empty and you usually have 50 kms til the car runs out at highway or arround town urban deiving.

The 5 speed is a turbo Aero wilth 50,000 (80 kms on the clock running synthetice oil. Keep the turbo off and the gas milage will work. Step into it and you are driving a six cylinder for gas. Be smart and egg it along for best economy.

Very true. The "idiot light" comes on when you are getting LOW on fuel. It is meant to alert the driver that fuel is needed. The 9-5 is programmed from the factory with about 2 gallons of fuel in reserve AFTER the light comes on. Depending on how you drive, you'll have 2 gallons worth of fuel to get to a gas station. Obviously if you baby it and don't accelerate rapidly, you will go further. You can also take your 9-5 to a Saab dealer and they can re-program your computer to warn you sooner / or later, that you are getting low on fuel. The car computer can be programmed to have the light come on when you have more / or less fuel in the tank. I would recommend having it come on sooner...than later. If you would like the light to come on, when you have (say 4 gallons in the tank) - then you would have 4 gallons worth of fuel in reserve...to get to a station and refuel.

6/28/08 Hi, I picked up my box today and had trulboe figuring out what was inside. I didn't have good luck finding that info in Google Groups. I also opened an email from the Millers but the attachment came out encrypted on my computer. I am not a techno wizard. My guesses are:-Spinach-Red leaf lettuce-The tops of garlic that let you know it is ready to harvest-Salad mix-Arugula-Broccoli-Mustard greens-SpinachQuestion: Does the amount of produce in the box remain constant throughout the season? Or-come August do things get bountiful? Just wondering.Carol

I agree with you about the PDF and have been using a manual PDF for sereval years whenever I'm fishing in dangerous water or at a dangerous time of year. I recently purchased one for my wife (kayaking) but was talked out of the auto PDF because it can go off whenever it detects any minor amounts of water including rain & perspiration. Some of the auto PDF have a cap that can be used to change it to the manual mode to remedy unintended inflation. You may want to pick up a couple of re-arming kits.By the way I have yet to test mine out.
