Run On Empty?

When I bought the Lexus RX400h, I jokingly told the salesman that if I ever ran out of gas, I'd just drive in on the battery. He rolled his eyes, and said in a stern voice, "DON'T RUN OUT OF GAS!" So far, I've heeded his advice.
