Whew

June 24, 2007 about Infiniti FX35

Before I learned that when the light goes on there is still 6 gallons left in the tank, I was stuck in traffic in the middle of a bridge miles from the nearest known gas station. Cars were inching along. Heat waves streaming off the hood were matched only by the ones from my temples. I was sweating more than a ten-year old boy at Neverland Ranch.

Made if off of the bridge, gingerly drove to the local petrol station and after fifteen minutes of constant puckering, I exhaled and relaxed whilst filling my tank with gorgeous golden gasoline to continue my trip.

Have you changed your route, or has tfrafic been noticeably different? Is the CEL on? Any error codes being thrown?Realize that gasoline blends change season to season, so that could cause some dropoff, though usually you see worse mileage in the winter, not the summer. Though that shouldn't account for a 33% dropoff in mileage.Take the car to the dealer and have them run diagnostics on it to make sure that the car isn't running too rich (i.e. sending too much fuel to the motor during the combustion cycle).
