2004 Solara Sle Convertible - 18.5 Gal Tank

December 22, 2011 about Toyota Solara

2004 Solara SLE which has a 18.5 gallon tank

The test I ran was to set the trip odometer when my range gauge says 0 - this is after the fuel light comes on.

So the Range gauge says 0 and from my tests I estimate you have approx 2-3 gals of gas left - I have driven 40 miles, when range read 0, on highway and still the tank only took 17.6 gals - leaving just under 1 gal still left.

I think I pushed it @ 40 miles and would not try it any further for I was going mostly downhill when I did this - if it had been uphill I might not have made it.

So when your range reads 0 on a 2004 Solara SLE just figure you safely have 2 gallons of gas left and set your trip odometer to 0 and estimate your mileage based on city / highway and try to meet this goal and you will be fine. Once you exceed your 2 gallon estimate then start sweating.

Hope this helps someone.
