29 Miles ... Then 22

What happened? The first time I lasted to 29 ... then I pushed it to the limit again and ran out of gas at 22. grrr.
I'm filling up when my gas light is on now. lol

I have a Jeep Grand Cheeroke 2001 3.1 and the last time i was running in a red light my car was stuck in my garage it was saying i have about 26 km left but when i left the car and went back in the morning the car wont even start and it was saying it has 16km left but the car wont even start so now i never drive in a red light after that
