2000 Vw Jetta Tdi
Sadly, I always seem to be traveling while my empty light goes on and of course, no diesel gas stations anywhere around me. I have gone well over 75 miles when the light comes on, get home, then drive to work in the morning (another 10 miles) and still have never ran out of fuel :) that is why I will NEVER get rid of this car!

Thanks for actually indicating the year of your car. Most of the posts here are useless because the engines vary greatly for the different generations of diesel Jettas. I've pushed my 2001 Jetta TDI to about 75 mi after the light went on. After a great experience and 212k mi on the original clutch I traded in for a 2012 Golf TDI. Here's to hoping this car will last even longer!
The comparison was beetewn the WRX and GTI not the STI and GLI. Those are two completely different comparisons since the? GLI is based on the jetta which is a piece of crap compared to the golf. I'd take a GTI over WRX but I wouldn't take a GLI over an STI, does that make sense?
