i've run my jeep to empty a few times. mine displays how many miles to empty the car has and i've found that it can go 15 miles past 0 miles to empty. i've made is to a gas station at 21 miles past 0 miles to empty, but i've also ran out at 15. i set the odometer once it hits 0.
