95-99 Monte Carlo
Well, the 5th gen monte carlos don't have a low fuel light. I have had mine for about 3 years now, I would never let it touch the orange. This weekend I decided to see how far I could actually go - 48.3 miles(this was after it was past the red) I kept a gallon of gas on the floor board so I could make it home. But about 50 miles and your good after empty.

Thanks so much! Ive got a 99 MC and it drives me crazy that it doesn't have the low gas light! Thanks for the input.
Be careful with these models though. The fuel pump is cooled by the gas in the tank, if your under the quarter mark for the gas line, then your pump is starting to lose the gas that keeps it from over-heating. Another note, I noticed in my 95 3.1 liter, that you don't get nearly 50 miles after red lining. Maybe 20 for me.
I had the same year monte carlo and it did the same thing I replaced the fuel pump , and blew out fuel lines and iinlne fuel filters that was not the problem . The problem was in the sock filter located in the back of the gas tank which is not visiable you have to drop the gas tank. just a suggestion
