98 Miles After Gas Light Came On
I own a 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport ClubCab, 2.5 liters, 4 cylinders, 5 speed manual transmission pickup. I was driving to pickup my children for the weekend, is about 140 miles round trip. On the way down, the low fuel light came on, and once on the expressway, on the way back, got stuck on traffic and had to use an alternate route because of brush fires had closed down I-75. Took me about 2 hours to reach my destination. Since I always reset the trip meter as soon as the light comes on, is how I know it went 98 miles. I thought of pushing it to see if it could break the 100 miles mark, but since I had my kids with me, didn't want to risk getting stranded. But ussually, I get between 60 and 80 miles after the iiot light comes on. Oh, and never have I gotten stranded. Bought the truck new, and every 3000 miles (religiously) change the oil and filter since I bought it.
