Fat Bottom Tank
December 14, 2007 about Chrysler PT Cruiser
We have a 2007 PT Cruiser that we bought new in the spring of the same year. We had no idea what the light and ‘dinging’ meant in relation to actually running out of gas. Our best guess now is that the tank is shaped like a bell, larger at the bottom than at the top because filling from the halfway point takes only about 5-6 gallons.
On one occasion, my wife drove 31 miles with both the gaslight and the needle on Empty.
It took 12.6 gallons to fill it from that point.
