I've driven as much as 50 miles after my light comes on. I pay more attention to how many miles my digital indicator says I have left. If I'm trying to push it, I make sure not to lay on my gas pedal too much to save gas.

I live about 50 miles from work. Several times the light has come on when I leave to go home. I have never had a problem making it half-way home before stopping to fill up, that's where the cheaper gas is. This is all freeway miles of course, in the city I would not be able to make it far at all, probably about 15 miles or so. My car is the 3.9 GTP model, I figure the models with the smaller engines should be able to make it a little farther.

when the light came on in my g6 i was 5 miles away from the gas station... i had to cost in and still was almost out of reach of the pump
