Gas Gas Gas....

November 2, 2012 about Dodge Grand Caravan

That sums up my entire experience with gas mileage in my Grand Caravan Sport. I get about 15 according to the computer readout. But I do not believe it. Lately, if I'm getting 9mpg I'm lucky... Nothing wrong with the van, have had 3 different mechanics look at it. Dodge says it should get between 19-22, yea right!

Sorry to hear that bad of a report, is it mostly city driving? Our 2008 Grand Caravan is getting 21 mpg (mostly highway)and when we do have stop and go it drops to about 17mpg.

1998 Grand Caravan ES, 3.8L engine. I bought it used and well-maintained 2 and a half years ago and the display showed around 21MPG. Nowadays it dips down as low as 16.5/17 when driven around my small rural town a lot, but gets in the 19 range when it's driven on the highway more often. I've never ran it completely empty, but have driven as far as 10 miles with the DTE meter showing 0. It has a tendency to rapidly take a nosedive when the DTE gets to around 30.
