Great Truck

June 3, 2008 about Dodge Dakota

With current gas prices ($4.11) it takes about about 35-38 dollars to put a half tank! Also ive noticed that sometimes when i start it the gas will be actually higher then what it was just the last time i drove it and just the opposite sometimes as well! And i normally drive at about the same weather conditions everyday so it cant be exansion and contraction related. Oh well still a great truck!.

It could be your gas tank level float is going bad. Dodge truck are notorious for having a weak tank float pin. I've had two trucks where the pin wore out; the dealer recently replaced it while working on another issue, so we'll see how long it lasts.

One day I knew i was empty and was about to head to the gas station. I started the truck and it read three quarters of a tank. Figuring I was having a blonde moment i proceeded with my trip WITHOUT getting gas. The next time I started my truck it was dead empty. Only happened once and no trouble came of it. Its a good truck. (for a chrysler!)
