I Never Fly On Fumes

When I bought my Year 2001 Kia Rio the gas gauge was already on the E so I assumed I was already flying on fumes when I closed the deal. The FIRST thing I did was go to a gas station to put a lod of fuel in it. 11 gallons later I had a full tank. Checking the manual later I found the tank capacity is 11 1/2 gallons. I don't know if that manual is accurate but I NEVER let it get to that dreaded E.

The tank that day was EXACTLY on the E when I went across the street to get that maiden tankful. I have no idea how far I could go after the E and until someone else told me about the "flying on fumes idiot icon" I had no idea it existed.

As normal the gauge isn't exactly accurate. Here goes:

F 2/3 full to topped off

3/4 half full

1/2 1/3 full

1/4 Getting empty there...

E Flying on fumes. Get gas now!
