I have a 2005 Accord coupe. I have refuelled lots of time as some as the light goes on. It always takes 13 US gallons to refill. The tank contains 17 gallons.

I have the exact same model and year and you are so correct! It does only fill up to 13 and has 17. I always thought about that. It must have a good reserve!

I can confirm the two stories above as I almost always fill the tank when it's on empty. I have a 2004 Accord, and have gone as far as 50 miles with the light on.

That's because it was originally made for driving in Japan where most people do not drive and you can easily drive 25 miles or so in city stop and go traffic befor you see a gas station.

2007 Accord. Combo highway city. Mainly highway 80-85 mph. Light came on & I drove another 45 miles before filling up. Held 14.7 gallons topped off so still had another 2.3 gal on board. Avg mpg was 25 so basically could have gone another 50 miles with left over to roll into a station if all the fuel actually burns from the tank.
