Marines 1978 Camaro Driver
HEY WHEN I WAS IN THE MILITARY SOME MANY MOONS AGO PRIOR TO MY RETIREMENT. IT WAS KNOWN FOR ME TO NOT HAVE ANY GAS IN MY CAR. SO WHEN SOMEONE WANTED TO USE SGT BRANCH'S CAR WHICH THEY COULD ALWAYS USE YOU KNEW YOU HAD TO MAKE GETTING GAS YOUR FIRST STOP.
BUT I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES WHEN MY GAS LIGHT WOULD COME ON THAT I WOULD IMMEDIATELY PUSH THE TRIP MILES IN ORDER TO KNOW WHEN WAS THE VERY LAST MOMENT I HAD TO GET GAS.
WHY WAS THIS DONE, BECAUSE MARINES, LIKE OTHER BRANCHES OF MILITARY SERVICES ARE ALWAYS PUSHED TO THE LIMITS IN EVERYTHING THEY DO, DID I SAY EVERYTHING THEY DO. WELL IT IS IN EVERYTHING THAT THE MARINES DO THAT WE PUSH OURSELVES AROUND OUR FELLOW MARINES SO WE ALL KNOW EACH OTHER STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, AND I WANTED THE SAME THING FOR EVERYTHING I USE.
AND TO THIS DAY I RUN ALL MY VEHICLES TO EMPTY IN ORDER TO KNOW HOW FAR I CAN GO BEFORE ACTUALLY RUNNING OUT. BECAUSE THE OTHER SICK REASON AS MY FRIENDS PUT IT FOR ME DOING THIS IS I HATE STOPPING OT PUT GAS IN ANY VEHICLE UNLESS IT TRULY NEEDS IT AND I HAVE THE TIME BECAUSE IT IS SO TIME CONSUMING FOR ME TO DO THIS.
I COULD ALMOST HONESTLY PAY A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS IF SOMEONE WOULD COME TO MY RESIDENCE AND FILL MY CAR UP DURING THE TIME OF DAY I'M EITHER IN OR THE NIGHT OR WHEN I'M NOT USING MY CAR ANY LONGER THAT DAY.
JUST THE OTHER DAY I HAD TRAVELED ABOUT 90 SOME ODD MILES IN MY NOW 2002 DODGE DURANGO, AND IT TOOK ALMOST $70.00 TO FILL IT UP WHICH ONE OF THE OTHER REASONS I LET IT GET THAT FAR.
OH IN MY CLOSE, I KEPT THAT 1978 CAMARO WHICH I BROUGHT NEW WITH ONLY ABOUT 6 OR SO MILES ON IT FOR WELL OVER 200,000 MILES WHICH IT WAS BROKEN IN TO AND COULDN'T AFFORD TO GET IT FIX THAT WAS IN 2001.
