Mpg? What Mpg?
I drive a 2005 Grand Prix and I really do love this car. Its handling and responsiveness is hard to outdo. The MPG however varies drastically depending on how I drive it. I have gotten mileage as good as 35 MPG when driving about 65 MPH steadily for a long distance, not using the A/C. That equates to about 340 miles on a single tank. HOWEVER!!!! If I drive faster or am stuck a lot in stop and go traffic OR use the A/C for ANY TIME the MPG drops dramatically, and I then get only about 20 MPH, and then my total mileage means only about 265 miles per tank full. But then again, this is my car. Depending on what driving I am doing, time of year, and a wide array of other factors. One of which is also whether I "top off" the tank when filling up. The truest fact is that as long as you are driving easy without a lot of stopping and starting, you will do much better. Regular maintenance of your car makes a huge difference as well. I am totally anal about vehicle upkeep. I follow the manufacturers guidelines to the letter with any car I have ever owned. I even had a 1987 Ford Ranger Pickup that lasted me almost 300,000miles due to my upkeep. It probably would have gone much longer, except I went into a phase in life where I didn't take as good care of it and let a timing belt change go. And sure enough, when that timing belt went, it took all the valves with it.. Be good to your vehicles and they will be good to you.
