I make a 30 mile commute on a heavily traveled highway and never tested the accuracy of the fuel gage. one afternoon the computer told me I was low on fuel while exiting the freeway on a tight cloverleaf, and the car gasped to a stop. although it was not empty the centrifugal force sloshed the fuel to one side of the tank long enough to render me stranded on road. The car would not start until I put a gallon of fuel in it.
