Running Dry Will Damage Your Fuel Pump

Sierra 1500 fuel pump is very low quality.
Running the tank dry will damage the fuel pump, a $500+ repair.
I've had this happen twice.
The truck will enter a low fuel state and start stuttering, with max speed at about 30 until it runs dry. Do it more than once and you'll need a new fuel pump.
Not sure about other GM truck models. Just the 1500 GMC and Chevy.
