I live three miles from the closest gas station and got home late one night from work, so all of them were closed. The next morning, the car skipped, coughed, and sputtered it's way down the road - I got to the station on fumes, having to drive 20 MPH all the way. I don't let my gas tank get below 1/4 of a tank now.

sometimes i can drive 30+ miles to the next town but once i ran out just going into town (10 miles) usually i can make it 30+ tho... dont use it as gauge anymore i just fill up when its get to 1/4 tank also... 80k miles on 2003 and i constantly get 30+ mpg combined driving hwy/city

I have the Cumberland Farms smartpay app, so I wanted to wait until I could make it to the cheapest Cumbies, which was pretty far. The light came on once I pulled out of my driveway, and made it 23 miles and then some. Sometimes my needle sits below the empty line, to the point where the top edge of the needle touches the bottom edge of the empty line and I can still make it 10 miles. My car's never died on me yet due to low gas.
