This Little Car Can Go!!
I tend to be one of those people that dreads going to the gas station. Besides that, there is not a convenient gas station on my way to work. I ALWAYS zero out the mileage when my gas light turns on and have people in my vehicle FREAKING OUT!! I have run out of gas 2 times in my Echo and both times my mileage was approximately 50 miles.
Once I was with a friend in a downpour of rain he asked me if I was pressing on and off the gas. I told him nope...and that we were about to run out of gas. The closest gas station happened to be closed, but thank goodness for pumps that take credit cards after hours!!! We putted and rolled on into the dimly lit gas station. Now everytime he gets in my car he is sure to ask me if I have gas in my car. LOL!!
I have learned to only go about 35 miles or less before after the gas light has come on. When friends see my gas light on and FREAK...I am sure to tell them I have gone 50 miles before running out!! :)
This little Echo is the only car I would feel safe going that far with the gas light on. I sure as heck would have never done that in my VERY tempermental Corvette.
