Winter Tires Give Better Milage?
A few year back I went on a 300 mile drive from Western Washington over to Eastern Washington near Lake Chelan. I noticed after making the trip there and back I had averaged about 32 MPG which is pretty high for a 97 2.8L V6 VW Jetta VR6. Normally I average about 28-29mpg so 32 was a pretty big jump. I always keep my car in near perfect working order so the only thing I could think of that made the difference was the winter tires I was running. They were 195 width compared to the stock 205 tire width. The next year I did the same trip but with normal summer tire with a 205 width and was back at the 29-29mpg average. Clearly I haven't done a lot of test but something people might want to think about is that if you don't mind running a slightly small (width-wise) tire you might save a few mile a gallon because of less roll resistance.
Any ways that my store and feel free to check on my Jetta at myvr6.org .

Story replies
It is illegal to use winter tires in summer. The authorities have been notified. Also Jettas are made by commies.
Jetta's are actually made in Mexico. Get your story straight. And HOnda's and toyota's are made by chinks.
